We are proud to announce the participation of our colleague Prof. Gianfranco Giulioni in the ANNSIM 2025 – Annual Modeling and Simulation Conference, held at the Complutense University of Madrid from May 26-29, 2025. The conference is one of the most important international events in the field of modeling and simulation, bringing together experts from around the world to discuss innovation, sustainability and new technologies.
Within the Work in Progress session dedicated to new approaches for the simulation of socio-ecological systems, Giulioni presented the study entitled: “Towards a Model of the Italian Wheat System: Agent-based Simulations for Sustainable Policies Design.”
carried out together with Concetta Cardillo, Alessandro Ceccarelli, Arianna Di Paola and Edmondo Di Giuseppe.
The work proposes an agent-based model of the wheat system in Italy, with the goal of supporting the design of more sustainable agricultural policies. Using a simulative approach inspired by Digital Twins theory, the research explores how different actors-farmers, institutions, markets-interact in defining yields, production choices and environmental impacts, with a focus on adaptation to climate change and global market dynamics.
Giulioni’s participation demonstrates Ecowheataly’s commitment to contributing to the agroecological transition through innovative scientific tools and multidisciplinary collaborations.
Congratulations to Gianfranco for bringing our team’s voice to such a high-level scientific context!
