Our team continues to bring relevant scientific contributions to major international events. On May 30, 2025, Ecowheatly researcher Dott. Alessandro Ceccarelli participated in the MADME 2025 – Multi-Agent Data-driven Modelling in Economics conference, held in Venice at the San Giobbe campus.
The paper, presented in the session dedicated to Green Policies, was entitled:
“Agent-based simulations for sustainable policies design in the Italian wheat production system.”
signed by Gianfranco Giulioni, Concetta Cardillo, Alessandro Ceccarelli, Arianna Di Paola and Edmondo Di Giuseppe.
Ceccarelli illustrated an agent model that simulates the complexity of the Italian wheat system, with the goal of supporting the design and evaluation of sustainable agricultural policies. The model takes into account structural variables such as market organization, crop choices, response to public incentives and the interaction between institutional and private actors.
A strength of the research is the ability to simulate future scenarios-for example, related to climate change, new regulations or price dynamics-and assess impacts in terms of productivity, equity and environmental sustainability.
The interest generated during the session testifies to the urgency of equipping ourselves with advanced simulation tools to address the challenges of ecological transition in agriculture. Participation in MADME 2025 thus reinforces Ecowheatly’s role as a bridge between research, land and public policy.
