
Researchers of Institute of BioEconomy presented their preliminary findings of ECOWHEATALY project at the recent EGU General Assembly 2024, held in Vienna, Austria, from April 14th to 19th.
Arianna Di Paola and Massimiliano Pasqui, involved in the project, presented a poster titled “Classifying the Environmental Impact of Italian Wheat Farming: The ECOWHEATALY Project” during the session “Integrating Social Science into Environmental Studies and Action and vice versa.”
The poster showcased the project’s ongoing research on the environmental impact of wheat production in Italy. It specifically focused on the use of fertilizers, pesticides, and fossil fuels by Italian wheat farmers. The researchers also presented the main goals of the project.
The ECOWHEATALY project’s interdisciplinary approach, which combines environmental and social sciences, generated significant interest at the conference. This innovative approach aims to promote sustainable practices in Italian wheat farming.
